MelvinSaidJess #5: The Ones that Stood by my Side

MelvinSaidJess #5: The Ones that Stood by my Side

Before even getting engaged, I knew exactly who I wanted by my side on our wedding day. I knew I was going to have 2 Maids of Honor and 4 Bridesmaids.

The Maids of Honor thing was easy. With 2 sisters that I hold near and dear to my heart, that was a given.

I asked one of my cousins to be one of my bridesmaids. I also asked 3 of my childhood friends, who, when you add my older sister and I, create what we fondly call "The Sisterhood."

Now, I could go on and on about these women and how much they mean to me, but I'll stick to sharing photos.

Like this one, which is one of my favorite photos of the Sisterhood. I mean, come on. This sums up our time together.

Now, as far as choosing attire for my bridal party, I knew a few things from the get-go:

  1. They were all going to wear the same color.
  2. They were going to have different dress styles.
  3. My sisters, as the Maids of Honor, would wear long gowns, and my bridesmaids would wear shorter ones.

I love how it all came together in the end. I'd say that it came together fairly quickly given the extensive selection that David's Bridal had to offer. It was very easy to find dresses made of the same material in different styles.

My husband likes to pretend that he's local. Haha. It's cute.

Yes, those are Deathly Hallows pins in their hair.

When we were getting ready the morning of the wedding, I gifted them with these hair pins, lightning bolt earrings, and the floral robes shown in earlier photos.

And, of course, some sisterly love...

I can't say this enough, but I love these ladies.
