Bright Side Jessica and the Birchbox Subscription

Ok, so I'm a little behind on posting about my subscription box experiments, but that's not to say that I haven't been trying!

For the month of May, I tried a beauty product subscription with Birchbox. As with Stitch Fix, Birchbox asked me to fill out a beauty profile to help them determine what kind of products to send me. I tried to be as clear as possible in my profile since I don't care for certain things, like fragrances and other smelly things like that.

Here's what I got!

With each monthly box, you get 5 beauty product samples, but since this was my first subscription, I also got a free Pixi eyeshadow set that I'm pretty excited to use since it's a palette I often favor. Also in the box was a card with details about each of the products.

Anyway, here's a breakdown of the products I received...

This best-selling elixir locks in color, protects from heat damage, and adds silkiness.

blush and bronzer duo  |  full-size, $35

The warm-hued bronzer gives skin and energized glow, while the universally-flattering blush blends seamlessly into skin.

This is probably the product I liked the least of the bunch, but only because I never use blush or bronzer. In fact, in all honesty, I don't know how to properly apply it. So, there's a good chance I won't use it. Any takers?

classic face sport spf 50 white tea  |  full-size, $32

This sheer, moisturizing SPF provides lasting protection and hydration for an active lifestyle.

I wouldn't consider myself an active person, but I'm sure I don't HAVE to be one in order to use it... :P

coconut crush scrub  |  full-size, $28

This formula contains organic coconut oil for hydration, plus brown sugar and Tahitian coconut shell for exfoliation.

I'm actually quite excited to try this one out. I've heard lots of great reviews of coconut oil products, so I can't wait to give this one a try.

Vera Bradley Fragrances

vanilla sea salt  |  full-size, $48

French vanilla is balanced by notes of sea air, lily of the valley, and cotton candy, for a nostalgic boardwalk scent.

I'm kind of hesitant to give this one a try, only because I have a sensitive nose. Strong smells, both good and bad, tend to give me headaches and even sometimes makes me nauseated.

And, last, but not least, the freebie. I don't have product details for this one since this was a free gift, but it'll probably be the first thing I try out. Haha.

Hopefully, I'll give these products a try within the next week or so, and I'll report back on my experiences!
